*The job hunt still isn't going well. And yes, I even looked at Wal-mart. I just sent out another dozen applications and/or resumes so we'll see what next week brings. Oy. There's a lesson in this somewhere, but it is a mighty uncomfortable one.
*Please pray for my kids... their last visit with their father went badly and they're struggling. I could use some prayer too. This is the most time I've spent with my kids in a long time and my parenting skills clearly need some work. (But please, don't pray for the "P" word. It always backfires. =)
*After a little over a year, my church has a new pastor!! The previous pastor and his wife were very important people to me and my children. They are deeply missed. However, the new pastor and his wife are amazing people. They are more than I ever hoped and prayed for and our church is incredibly blessed to have them. Thank you God!
*Also in church news... so much to do, so little time. VBS starts in two weeks and I think I got put in charge of decorating. This is a baaaaaad thing. I love to decorate, I'm even somewhat good at it. However, I tend to get a bit neurotic about it. Lord help me (and the people who have to live with me)!
*I am definitely delaying grad school for a semester. And as anxious as I was (am) to get back in school, I feel a huge weight lifted just by knowing that I don't have to get everything done in the next three weeks. I have three months to let God work, which means I'm less likely to panic and take control back again. Glory hallelujah!
*I.Don't.Like.Heat. Yes, I know, in comparison to other parts of the country, the lower 90s temperatures we've been "enjoying" in the PNW aren't all that hot. And it didn't help that it literally went from being in the 50s to being in the 90s in a matter days. But there is a reason I live in Oregon and scorching HOT is not supposed to be part of the deal. I DO NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Yes, I have perfected the fine Oregon whine. lol.
See, the sun and I don't get along. For one thing, I am one of those people who burn even when its cloudy. And then I blister. And then I peel back to white. And then it starts all over again. And while sunblock usually helps with the burning, it doesn't prevent my other sun problem - I break out in hives. Seriously. If I spend too much time in the hot summer sun, even with sun block, my skin develops these nasty hives-turned-welts everywhere, even under my clothes. Ick.
*Yawn. I'm tired. I'm not sleeping well these days and my kids are still waking up at zero-dark-thirty. If I don't wake up with them, they get into all kinds of mischief. So. That's it for now. I'm going to try to go to sleep at nearly midnight when it is still EIGHTY degrees. (Did I mention the lack of A/C?) Exciting huh?

Bethany,
I've been away from blogland for a week so I was catching up. I'm praying for you and for sleep! I so remember those days when the kids didn't sleep through the night or woke up before dawn. When they would go to their dad's he would have an absolute fit because of how early they got up, and that gave me a little twinge of naughty pleasure to know they got up that early even when it was someone else who had to get up with them! The fact that they are finally older and want to sleep late is something that I truly appreciate now and I take advantage of being able to sleep in a little and still have time to do some things before they get up. I'm praying for those days to come for you soon!
Blessings
Michelle
